The Livingston Library has updated
its collection of Indian language materials.
Besides a fresh addition
of books in Hindi and Gujarati, the library now owns DVDs of
classic Hindi movies and Gujarati plays. Music DVDS and DVDs
of serialized epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata and
some TV series have also been acquired. In the Children’s
section, bilingual books have been added. Indian music CDs representing
film, classical and other forms have also been acquired.
The Hindi movies are
shelved with the regular DVD collection. The majority of the
other materials are shelved behind the 800s and 900s non-fiction
in the adult section of the library.
The Library continues
to subscribe to several Indian magazines, including Sarita,
Chitralekha, Grihashobha, and Desh in Hindi, Gujarati and Bengali.
